Why we made Waygu®?

Authentic wagyu beef is among the most sought-after and luxurious meats in the world. What makes it so special is its copious marbling, which creates a luxurious, buttery tenderness unlike any steak from cattle raised anywhere else. Expert Japanese farmers have honed their cultivation techniques over decades to ensure that their cows develop evenly marbled fat deposits creating the most coveted beef in the world.

From the beginning, Wamame’s goal was to create the world’s finest plant-based version of wagyu beef. In choosing to replicate the world’s best beef, Wamame made a conscious decision not to compare itself with other plant-based meat alternatives, but to compare itself to other meat products.

Styles & Flavours

Sukiyaki Style (Thin) Strip

The original thin, or ‘Sukiyaki style’, strip has all the same taste and texture as premium meat. Incredibly versatile, Waygu® thin strip holds its own in any recipe that is usually made with premium beef. The thin strip works particularly well on top of rice, in a sushi roll, as a taco filling or even on pizza.

Available in Teriyaki, Korean BBQ, Umami, and Plain flavours.

Yakiniku Style (Thick) Strip

A thick, or ‘Yakiniku style’, strip has all the rich taste and meat texture as the thin strip, but with even greater flexibility. Waygu® thick strip can be used in a stir fry with noodles, in a sandwiches (think Philly Cheesesteak) or even grilled on skewers.

Available in Teriyaki, Korean BBQ, and Plain flavours.
