As a company we respect that plant-based proteins now provide the best avenue to build a sustainable food future and are focused solely on bringing out the best in plant-based cuisine.

Our team understands that to be successful the plant-based proteins that we put forward must meet or exceed the quality of animal based proteins. We therefore will release fewer products than other companies but those we do release will be of a much higher standard than the industry.
Wamame’s flagship product line Waygu® was developed because we wanted to replicate the best beef has to offer. Wagyu beef has long been regarded as the most delicious beef in the world, so we developed Waygu® as an alternative to show that plant-based options can compare favourably to the best animal proteins on the planet.
Wagyu® has been praised by chefs and critics around the world and is being adopted by some of the globe’s most recognized brands and notable restaurants.
While we develop our portfolio further our focus will remain the same: Wamame is committed to being the very best brand for plant-based product quality and will remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering only products that satisfy the highest standards in culinary development.

Founding Story
In 2013 Blair Bullus founded Wamame’s parent company Top Tier Foods with a goal to improve the nutritional components and flavour quality of Canada’s ready to eat food market. Early successes included protein-dense Quinoa Quickies, and Sushi Quinoa, a product lauded for its innovative spin on a key sushi component. Top Tier Foods also introduced seaweed-based Tosago and Cavi-Art to the North American market, providing an excellent culinary alternative to unsustainable fish roe.
Inspired by Japanese craftsmanship and Canadian innovation, Bullus blended the two to create the subsidiary Wamame Foods to develop the world's best-tasting plant-based meat alternatives. These groundbreaking products, including Waygu®, offer unprecedented meat-like texture, mouth feel, flavour, and umami honouring great Japanese craftmanship while incorporating the best in Canadian innovation.
